About Michael

In 1981, aged 18, Michael started his career in funeral service as a funeral assistant at H Duckworths, Cramlington Village. In 1982 he got the opportunity to join the North Eastern Cooperative Funeral Service in Blyth, as a trainee funeral director. During his time at the Co-Op Funeral Service he became a fully qualified embalmer. In 1985, he became a member of The British Institute of Embalmers. In 1986 he gained a diploma in funeral directing becoming a fully qualified funeral director… and senior funeral director within the Blyth division.  In 1991 he joined E Turnbull & Son Ltd, North Shields, to become Funeral Service Manager, where he remained for 26 years, until December 2017. It was then he decided to start his own business in his home town of Blyth. Michael has 36 years experience and prides himself in compassion and care, ensuring that your loved-one’s funeral is organised personally with the utmost dignity and respect.
